Alt Bentheim in Bad Bentheim

Those Germans still have a problem with debit cards. You can only pay with a debit card above 20 euros and you pay 20 cents for that. This in the heart of a tourist center of Bad Bentheim Dom Dom Dom We will not come here again.

Location good, service very good. But the food: the Jägerschnitzel tasted like ready-made sauce and pressed meat. French fries were barely salted. The price was definitely too high for this quality. A pity...

Nice place for a decent meal. Typically German food with authentic dishes. The view directly on the Castle "Burg Bentheim" is very nice.

Nice tour made through the direction of Bad Bentheim On a terrace we had a coffee with an apple pie with whipped cream and that tasted good And inside the house well done again Had a nice afternoon

Great place for lunch when we are passing by by motorbike.

Been 13/8 this morning for lunch. Well the operation did not really make sense. We were almost snubbed. We wanted to have lunch. Pin was not possible, so we had to get money from the bank. And without a mouth mask it also became difficult. Not a friendly explanation but the comparison that the teacher in Amsterdam also had to wear a face mask. In short, we drank the ordered beer and had a delicious lunch elsewhere. And kindly helped. And yes, I would rather pin than cash in the corona time.

Food 5/5 Service 5/5 Tempo 5/5 Schnitzel and back steak eaten. Everyone was friendly and accommodating. The food came quickly and was excellent. Slightly above average price range, but adequate. Gladly again. 👍

Worthless had to eat there not only drinking dogs were not welcome and we were also insulted by the waiter approached with 4 dogs while we only had 2 ?????? May burn off part of me

The food was not bad, but the manager was very inhospitable. He made me wait on the stairs for 45 minutes while multiple tables were available. He gave no reason. I did not let myself be chased away and eventually he pointed to a table, as far back as possible. I had to order and eat within 30 minutes.

Classic shop with a nice terrace where you can eat good cake, soup and other things. Hold covid measures well.

DO NOT go to this restaurant! Place very nice, but we have exactly the same experience already Bas Koek at this restaurant ... are really VERY unfriendly there !!!

Nice ambience, fast service. The food is delicious, but the portions are very small and relatively expensive. Home cooking. Vegetarians only have 4 options to choose from (1 soup, 1 salad and 2 starters)

The Alt Bentheim is the place that fully adheres to the hygiene rules during the Corona period. Guests just walk past the sign, please wait, they will be placed past. The reason is that the guests do not sit at dirty tables. These are regulations. And if that no longer exists in the Netherlands, you still have to comply with German law. Part of the reason that people have to wait for tables is because of the distance. If a table goes, a new one can come. And it is probably very friendly when the waitresses say little moment.

Were there at 3pm. Terrace was far from full. Should only eat and not just drink. Unfriendly approach. Never ever again.

Top, great food

If there were 0.2 stars, I would prefer to award them. An absolutely inadequate behavior of the staff. Xenophobic remark ("You foreigners can't read") is the very last! Absolutely not to be recommended!

Bad service. You wait forever until someone comes. Then another 15 minutes until the card is brought. The restaurant was only 30% full. We got up and left. Fortunately, there are plenty of alternatives in the area.

Great food and close to the dutch border. Staff does everything that they can do to make the experience as great as possible.

I had a great lunch, and decent coffee keep in mind that they only speak German.

The food was wonderful understand swear wonderful and always ready to help.

delicious business lunch

Simple but tasty food. Fine beers. Great terrace at foot of castle steps. Service friendly if a bit slow. Good place to relax for a few hours.

We had a nice diner here. Staff was very friendly. We especially liked the Alt Bentheimer Traditionspfanne 😊😋

The schnitzel with bell pepper was good, but the sandwich was not to be taken away. It was a cold, sticky sandwich on which the melted cheese and warm ham were draped. That was topped with a kind of sweet butter sauce that did not make the entire composition eat. Maybe there are enthusiasts for it, but it wasn't spent on us.

The Alt Bentheim is right by the castle with a beautiful view of the historic old town and the castle. The beer garden really spreads holiday feeling. The staff is very friendly and helpful. For babies there are high chairs of various sizes. The food was fast and taste okay. A mushroom cream schnitzel with fries and (fresh) salad for 17,90 € I found a bit expensive. But the location is certainly not so cheap.

After half an hour no service. We left without anybody noticing us.

Very good food (we had Haxe and Schnitzel). Great ambiance and reasonable prices. Very pleasant and attentive service.

Nice place but serving is very slow.... Took 20 min till the staff came to take order. Expect a bit more customer oriented attitude.

It's okay

Very cozy - right by the castle. Heart, what do you want more? The food is delicious and the service very friendly and accommodating. You feel good here - you will love to come back here. Great and thank you for that.

We come here every few years. The friendly wart serves a perfect glass of beer. We like the atmosphere and the "Gutbürgerliche Küche" is very, very good.
